Fundamentalist Christians choose to ignore a lot of things the bible condemns like wearing 2 different fabric or shaving.  They choose to ignore things the bible condones like slavery.  Somehow they can't seem to ignore the gay condemnation in the bible. Dominic "see how manly I am" Dieter I can see it now.  A new reality series called "Raped Straight".  It will be a combination of "Intervention" and "Scared Straight".   Not only is he claiming that gays and lesbians can change who they are if only they find the right opposite sex partner, he's advocating for rape to get the job done.  Stay classy, Cleveland!! Dominic Dieter, a radio personality at Cleveland's WMMS, is in hot water for suggesting to a father he should arrange to have his daughter raped to turn her straight. The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is calling on Clear Channel, parent company of WMMS, to suspend Dieter for the comment. Dieter doled out the advice during Friday morning's  Rover's Morning Glory  show . Responding to a father who happened upon his teenage daughter kissing another girl, Dieter said, “You should get one of your friends to screw your daughter straight.”

John Avarosis at AmericaBlog thinks this U.K. video may miss the mark.  He thinks it may turn off the intended audience that it is trying to convince by showing a very tender kiss between the 2 men.  I disagree.  I think the video does a great job of "humanizing" both men before the kiss.  It takes its time to portray the emotional expressions of both men during this homecoming. I think anyone can identify with either one of the two.  The kiss that follows only reinforces the emotion that we have already seen and identified with.  I think the ad works, not just for gays but for anyone that is "ready" to be convinced. Also, the kiss takes place after a marriage proposal.  Without the kiss, the scene would seem fake.  It would seem too self-aware, trying too hard to be "acceptable".  Including the kiss is a very clever way of showing how natural the situation is.  Love is Love and a marriage proposal, if accepted, is always followed by ...

Not only would it ban the therapy for minors, it would also require a consent form to be signed by adults subject to this harmful treatment.  "Reparative therapy" is complete bunk!  It is harmful to the people unfortunate enough to be subjected to it.  It also DOES NOT WORK.   Even "reparative therapists" have admitted this. Opponents of this bill will scream about "religious freedom" and allowing patients to decide what is best for themselves...uh, no.  Religious freedom does not give one license to cause emotional harm to another individual.  Patients who request this therapy are doing so because the homophobes around them have convinced them that being gay is bad.  "Reparative therapy" is the symptom of a disease called homophobia.  This bill goes a long way to curing this disease.
