DL Foster...what does the "DL" stand for? So, according this "former" homosexual man , encouraging LGBT teen NOT to kill themselves is criminal behavior.  What a dick!...or maybe a dick is what he needs.  Dan Savage, watch out! Gov. Gregoire signing gay marriage bill Another very good day for gay rights in this country!!  I'm sure anti-gay heads are exploding all over the place. Via Queerty.com: Gov. Chris Gregoire has officially signed same-sex marriage into law in Washington State in a ceremony held in the state capital of Olympia. Weddings will commence June 7, if opponents do not have 120,000 signatures to propose a November ballot referendum by June 6. In legalizing gay marriage, Washington is the seventh marriage-equality state, joining New York, Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Washington, D.C. Time to celebrate, Seattle! And time to thank Gov. Chris Gregoire for championing our charge for equal rites. It’s also time for Republicans in states like New Jersey and Maryland where gay marriage is bubbling up to watch the video of Republican Rep. It is encouraging to watch most people passionately defend this boy from what all rational people realize is an extremely harmful "therapy".   Via TowleRoade: On Friday night, ABC's What Would You Do? with John Quinones posed the question: What happens if you drop off a bewildered gay teen with a "reparative therapist" he's never met before in the middle of a busy pancake house? Do the diners respond to the teen's obvious distress? To the therapist's obvious creepiness? The answers are (mostly) heartening, though the scenario isn't quite fair -- actual "reparative therapists" aren't generally so insensitive as to discuss a teen's sexuality during peak hours at a busy restaurant. (And most of them probably don't sound so sinister. This guy sounds like he's got bodies in his crawlspace.) Watch!

The 2 things that I am most grateful to Dan Savage for is: 1- The Santorum Google bomb (Not Safe For Work :-D) 2- The "Its Gets Better" video project. The newly released video from the San Francisco Police Department is especially well done.  How wonderful to see people of authority reaching out to LGBT teens when they feel most vulnerable. Most people reading this blog remember how it felt to think that they were the only person who had these feelings. I remember feeling like I could talk to no one about the attractions that I had.  Videos like this one do more good than we can imagine.  Thanks to all the creators of these videos! Watching this video proves again how much grace Ellen has! Then, said group told JC Penney that hiring Ellen as its spokesperson would offend shoppers, and “a majority of customers will no longer shop there” in an effort to bully them into firing her. JC Penney wouldn’t back down, but neither would OMM. Another sign that popular culture is massively shifting toward justice and equality for the LGBT community.  When someone as influential as Howard Stern takes this issue on with such passion, it speaks volumes to the progress that we have made!!  Despite the recent increase in anti-gay extremism, life is getting better for the LGBT community in this country.
